Royal Varuna Yacht Club
Royal Varuna is a member sailing club and RYA-accredited training centre on the Pratamnak coast. Its current programme covers youth and adult instruction, private tuition and powerboat training, while the 2026 regatta calendar confirms active organised sailing. Public access and course cost still need direct confirmation for the intended date.
What training is on offer
The operator's 2026 training page lists youth courses, adult courses, private tuition, instructor training and a two-day RYA Powerboat Level 2 programme. It says the school is RYA-accredited for dinghy, multihull and powerboat training and that instruction is in English. The sailing page separately presents racing, boat charter and the club fleet. A course enquiry is therefore different from asking to use member boats or facilities independently.
The facilities page lists a pool, lawn, private beachfront, restaurant and bar for the club setting. Those amenities are not assumed to be included with every course. The broader Pattaya watersports directory helps compare this training-centre model with commercial day activities.
What it costs
The current pages checked on 27 July 2026 did not publish a complete public rate for an ordinary adult or youth course, private tuition, boat charter or Powerboat Level 2. The membership page describes an entrance fee and monthly subscription without showing the amounts. Ask for a dated written quote naming the course, training dates, tax, equipment, certification or assessment fees, food and facility access.
No price is recorded here because a membership, a multi-day RYA course and a private lesson are different transactions. A blank price is not a claim of free access.
Who it suits — and who it does not
Royal Varuna may suit a beginner seeking a defined RYA learning route, a sailor looking for private tuition or an experienced participant interested in club racing. The published English-language instruction can help an international student, subject to course availability and placement.
It is not a dependable walk-in beach-activity choice for someone who wants an instant hire price without contacting the club. A traveller seeking a recreational dive or commercial water outing should compare the diving and watersports guide rather than assuming a sailing-club membership grants general day access.
Getting there
The operator and exact Maps identity place the club at 286 Moo 12, Pratamnak Road, Nongprue, Bang Lamung and publish +66 38 250 116. Use the club pin because Pratamnak's coast has several resorts and viewpoints. The Pratamnak area index gives neighbourhood context, not a fixed transfer, public-transport route, fare or parking entitlement.
Before you go
Contact the training office with the participant's age, sailing background, preferred dates and desired certification. Ask for prerequisites, minimum enrolment, clothing, buoyancy equipment, weather and cancellation rules, and the parts of the club available before or after class. The current Maps profile and operator contact details confirm the identity, but listed venue hours do not guarantee an instructor, boat or course place at every open hour.
What we could not verify
- No complete current public tuition, charter or membership tariff was displayed.
- The checked pages did not establish walk-in availability, minimum course enrolment or every equipment inclusion.
- Parking terms, non-member pool or restaurant access, and weather refund or rescheduling rules remain unconfirmed.
